To collaborate and assist in patient care with all members of the health care team with the coordination of the Registered Nurse (RN).
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs basic patient care! activities for adult, and geriatric
patients as delegated by the RN
2. Develops therapeutic relationships with patients individually and in
groups under the direct supervision of RN
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science or health related field OR High School Diploma or GED, and 3 years experience working in mental health or similar setting OR a student in a nursing program
- Current in CPR
- Current in TACT training or completion within 30 days of hire
- Prior experience in performing basic nursing tasks is desirable
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge about the care of adult and geriatric patients
- Physically capable of standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Models professionalism and respect
Unpredictable environment with wide variations in the types o! f patients, acuity levels, times of admissions/discharges and ! the number of patients/health care team members. Works in a standard patient care area with varying conditions regarding temperature control and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
