The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is currently seeking a part time Patient Services Assistant to join its busy Cardiac Procedures Unit located in the Cardiovascular Center. Responsibilities*
Provides general clerical support in a patient care environment. Experience with patient check in. Ability to provide coverage for co-workers. Ability to be a proactive team player. Arranges and coordinates support and ancillary services for patient care. Provides customer service to patients and their families by facilitating business processes including check-in, pre-arrival! and telephone triage. Responds to inquiries concerning depart! ment programs, services and activities.

Process physician's written orders. Receive and assist patients, visitors and staff. Arrange transportation. Answer phones and triage calls, tracking physicians and assist Charge Nurse. Some inventory and stocking. Update patients and their families. Organize charts and send proper paperwork to Medical Records, and other tasks as assigned by Supervisor. Required Qualifications*

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
  • Experienced in computer skills.
  • Reasonable experience in a public contact setting with at least one year in a hospital setting.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Utilization of standard business software and computers applications as necessary.
  • Understands and demonstrates the co! re concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC), including: Respect and Dignity, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration. Desired Qualifications*
  • Mi-Chart experience preferred.
  • Mainframe experience.
  • Carelink experience.
  • Knowledge of University Hospital policies and procedures. Work Schedule
32 hours per week, part-time.

Days / hours are Wed. and Thru. 7:00 am to 7:30 pm and Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Hours may change based on clinical department needs.

Will be required to wear a departmental uniform. Additional Information
