The RN First Assistant collaborates with the surgeon and the health care team in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient. The RNFA practices perioperative nursing and must have acquired the necessary knowledge, skills and judgment specific to the clinical practice. The RNFA practices in collaboration with and the direction of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase of the perioperative experience (the RNFA does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse).
The Candidate
2+ to 5 years of experience
Minimum Education - Associate's Degree
Skills and Certifications
CNOR (Cert OR RN)
RN First Assistant/ Certification
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have at minimum three years experience in OR with proficiency in scrubbing and circulating. In addition, CNOR and RN First Assistant Certification.
