SWAT nurses are experienced critical care nurses in the Nursing Resource Team. They engage in activities that allow them to re-prioritize house wide needs at a moment’s notice.
Position hours: 11a-7:30p
Top priorities! include:
Code Team & Rapid Response Team
Str! oke response
Inter hospital transport
Transport of critical patients
MRI transport
Moderate sedation
Education with newer nurses as appropriate
Difficult IV starts after the nurse and charge nurse have attempted
Hospital round to assess needs
Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Possess a current State of Michigan registration and license.
BCLS, ACLS, PALS
Critical Care experience required
2-5 years ICU/ER/PACU/Step down experience required
Must be flexible, self-directed, willing to learn new techniques/systems and be able to interact with nursing staff, physicians and support staff professionally.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and a flexible team player with commitment to relationship centered care.
