Assists in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management. Employees within this job description will h! ave direct contact with the patient and will function according to all or some of the competencies listed.
Qualifications
Knowledge of English language in order to understand and transmit information orally or in writing accurately.
Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Skill in assisting physician in a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
Ability to use or assist with medical instruments or equipment needed to administer patient care.
Ability to perform vitals.
Ability to perform after training all job related testing.
Ability to adapt and adjust clinical skills to patients specific needs to provide optimum patient care and satisfaction.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to schedule testing and perform assigned clerical duties.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Ability to work as a team. Comp! lete understanding of departmental policies and procedures and! HIPPA regulations.
Completion on a yearly basis of all mandatory requirements such as: Net Learning, TB tests, and flu vaccinations.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Educational Requirements
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or related work experience (such as Patient Care Associate; Certified Nurse Assistant; Emergency Medical Technician; or Health Study Student with partial completion of Clinicals). High School Diploma or Equivalent.
License/Certification Required
Current BLS certification.
