The Performance Improvement Leader provides support, education, and general coaching/consulting services to staff and leaders throughout the organization relating to quality/perf! ormance improvement, project management, process improvement, and general operations. The PI Leader works with staff and leaders throughout the organization to help identify opportunities and solve problems relating to quality and performance improvement. The primary role of the PI Leader is to act as an internal consultant/facilitator/coach to key driver/strategic project leaders and establish the infrastructure for performance improvement in the organization.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Director of Performance Excellence and is not responsible for the direct supervision of others.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participates in project idea generation, prioritization, selection, and scoping relating to quality and performance improvement.

2. Provides training to staff, leaders, and others on performance improvement tools, concepts, and techniques.

3. Maintains current knowledge of best practice, trends, ! and developments relating to performance improvement.

! 4. Assists staff, physicians, and leaders with managing key project timelines and deliverables.

5. Works with leaders across the organization to identify waste reduction, cost savings, and cost avoidance opportunities.

6. Works with staff and leaders to help ensure the transfer of new solutions or processes into ongoing operations.

7. Works closely with department Managers and Directors â€" assists with improving day-to-day operations

8. Directs others - lead, influence, manage and drive change as needed.

9. Uses systematic, disciplined, and data driven methods and decision-making to prioritize opportunities, analyze processes, and improve processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field required (industrial engineering, business, nursing).

2. Experience in applying Lean and/or Six Sigma required.

3. Experience in Project Management is required.

4. Experien! ce with change management methodologies and tactics is required.

5. Ability to plan, develop, and implement sound process improvement solutions is required.

6. Ability to work cross-functionally in a complex organization on multiple projects with defined deliverables/timelines is required.

7. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required.

8. Ability to analyze, assess, and make recommendations for improvement relating to workflow and processes is required.

9. Ability to self-direct in a challenging and ambiguous environment is required.

10. Demonstration of leadership, mentoring, and facilitator skills is required.

11. Basic knowledge of statistics, data gathering, and data analyses is required.

12. Ability to speak to large groups and diverse audiences is required.

13. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word is required.

14. Must be capable of! standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree in related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a variety of settings including standard office environment, meeting/classroom rooms, and observational work in clinical areas. Typical exposures associated with the healthcare environment.
