Qualificat! ions
Knowledge of health care procedures, typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, is necessary.
Possession of a current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan is necessary.
One year’s nursing experience, preferably in ambulance care or college health, is necessary.
College Health Certification is desirable.
Other Desired Qualifications
Essential Duties
Interview patients, evaluate condition, and refer to the appropriate physician.
Perform immunizations, tuberculin testing, and allergy injections.
Prepare instruments and supplies for patient care.
Advise and counsel students in areas of self-care and wellness.
Perform routine nursing duties, such as cleansing wounds, changing dressings, and giving injections.
Maintain complete patient records.
Use innovative, supportive, and restorative measures to ! promote physical comfort and emotional well being of the patie! nt.
Advise, instruct, and supervise auxiliary help in the care and recommended treatment of patients.
Perform related Departmental duties, as required.
