The School of Nursing is one of four schools in the College of Health and Human Services. The School offers both undergraduate program options and a graduate program in adult health nursing. A PhD in Educational Studies with a concentration in Nursing Education in collaboration with the College of Education is also offered. EMU enrolls approximately 23,000 students and offers an outstanding benefits package and a collegial work environment. Qualifications

Qualifications include: Master’s degree in nursing or an appropriate allied health field; Completed 18 credit hours toward doctorat! e in addition to Masters (Applicants without 18 credit hours o! f doctoral study may be considered at Instructor level rank); Current or eligible for Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan; At least 4 years of combined teaching and clinical experience; Evidence of scholarly activities commensurate with rank.

Preference is given for applications that demonstrate: Master’s specialization in any of the following clinical specialty practice areas; Psychiatric/Mental Health, Pediatrics, Adult Health, or Community/Public Health; Advanced Practice Nurses (Nurse Practitioners) are encouraged to apply; Doctoral degree attainment in Nursing or a related field; Evidence of professional and/or community service.

Other Desired Qualifications

Essential Duties

Teach contractual load of undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned by the department or school.

Assign and submit grades in accordance with established University schedules.

Keep posted office hours during the week w! hich are scheduled at times most beneficial to students.

Provide academic advising to students, if applicable.

Serve on search committees for hiring of new faculty members, departmental committees and other service committees across the university.

Participate in activities such as student registration, orientation, convocations and commencements.

Attend and participate in scheduled departmental meetings and functions.

Provide other support service to the department, college and/or university, if applicable.

Engage in pursuits that enable them to remain current in their respective disciplines.

Engage in pursuits that help to further organize and contribute to growth of the body of knowledge in their respective disciplines, and/or to explore interdisciplinary implications.

Perform related Departmental duties as required.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between ! EMU and the EMU Chapter of the American Association of University Profe! ssors, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a typical office/academic environment.
