The Good Spirit School Division invites applications for a permanent part-time caretaker.

Caretakers are valuable members of the team who provide for a clean, functional and attractive environment in all facilities owned and operated by the Division.

Assignment and Term:
This position is a permanent part-time position of 3 hours per day.

The position commences as soon as possible.

The work schedule will be determined. Rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.

The duties of a Caretaker are to:
Provide general care, upkeep, and maintenance on the school plant, the school grounds and school equipment including but not limited to:

The operation and checks of building mechanic systems.

Minor repairs in and around the school building as required.

Janitorial duties, snow removal, floor refinishing and upkeep of the school and school grounds.

Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Caretaker Coordinator and those listed in Job Description – Facilities:

Caretaker.

The successful candidate will have the desired qualifications:

Minimum Grade 10 Education or equivalent

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certification.

If the successful candidate has not completed the appropriate certification, they will be required to provide proof of enrollment and complete the course within six (6) months of their permanent status.

Level 1 Occupational Health and Safety

A valid driver’s license.

Take pride in maintaining a clean and operational facility.

Direct experience in the caretaking field and the ability to work independently and as a team member would be considered an asset.

Salary and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $18.31 - $22.34 with vacation time accrued at the applicable rate.

Benefits include participation in the Saskatchewan School Board Association (SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan, the Municipal Employees' Pension Plan and opportunities to attend professional development seminars.
