THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Content Writer to join our team in a freelance capacity.

We’re looking for a writer who understands on-page SEO and can explain complex HR and business topics in a friendly, knowledgeable way that is easily understood by readers no matter what their experience level may be.

You should be able to write a brief and maintain the brand tone of voice. The writer will be assigned a topic, keyword, and headings to flesh out into a full blog post, which will end up being between 1,000-3,000 words in length depending on the topic.

This is a 100% remote/work-from-home, 1099 contracted role.


THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write approximately 2-4 articles per month of varying length which are well researched including references
  • Researching related topics from a range of online sources and creating best-in-class articles and guides that are concise yet comprehensive
  • Following the Careerminds guidelines in terms of the style and structure of each piece
  • Writing in a confident, warm, and expressive style. You are a trusted mentor who writes for a job seeker in an authoritative, informative, and empathetic manner
  • Creating the content alongside our SEO guidance. Find the balance between engaging writing and pushing the content up the search results
  • Meeting the content deadlines within the wider content calendar
  • Including internal and external links within the articles that elevate understanding
  • Collaborating with our editors to perfect each piece of writing before publication. Teamwork and transparency are important to us!

THE MUST-HAVES

  • Native proficiency in written and spoken American English
  • Previous experience in copywriting or blog writing
  • Ability to write to a tight brief with the required tone and voice for each piece
  • Availability every month to complete writing tasks
  • Ability to manage deadlines
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn, adapt and communicate with an international team
  • Comfortable working with virtual tools such as Slack
  • Authorization to work for any US employer.

THE NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Some understanding of SEO preferred, experience with SEO article optimization
  • Previous experience writing within career services blogging
  • Previous experience within HR industries, HR legislation, and practices within the US
