POSITION TITLE: Adult Staff Psychiatrist
POSITION DUTIES: Perform inpatient psychiatric care for adult patients within Hospital-based Services with coverage as follows: Initial psychiatric assessments and admission; subsequent care visits for patients as needed per the judgment of the treatment team and Adult Staff Psychiatrist (ASP); essential communications with family members or payment providers, if necessary; collaboration with Pine Rest’s nurse practitioner and physician assistant staff members; complete documentation following department requi! rements, including: admissions and subsequent care dictated wi! thin 20 hours of same, discharges dictated within 7 days from date of discharge, and sign charts upon completion. Per coverage schedule, ASP will provide weekend rounding and night call, on site, for Pine Rest’s inpatient units and, off-site, at the Psychiatric Medical Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, which includes seclusion and restraint assessments as required by staff, from 8 am to 5 pm on weekend coverage days and between 5 pm and 8 am on coverage night call. Rate of pay: Two Hundred Thousand Dollars per year. The employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage, as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor. Minimum education and experience requirements: medical degree with Michigan license or eligibility for license to practice medicine and dispense controlled substances, and psychiatry residency program completion.
