For detail informations about this vacancy opportunity kindly see the descriptions. My client, a large hospital in SE MI has a need for either a RN or a NP for Pain Management.
THIS IS FOR A HOSPITAL PRACTICE!
Candidates MUST have at least a BSN. If candidates are a ! RN they must be willing to become a Nurse Practitioner within 5 years and get the pain certification as well.
Candidates should have prior experience in pain management.
The Acute Pain Service Nurse creates a pain service for all acute care in-patients. This service will involve consulting anesthesia and other physicians for Best Practice. The Acute Pain Service Nurse is responsible for nursing education on pain management and pain management plans. All pain related protocols and processes will be managed by the Pain Service Nurse.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as a pain management resource and maintains ongoing collaboration with other disciplines.
2. Identifies pain education needs, develops program(s) to meet those needs, and coordinates implementation of the programs.
3. Evaluates programs and modifies as indicated.
4. Coordinates and monitors annual pain competencies and protocol development/revi! sion.
5. Integrates JCAHO pain standards into practic! e which includes pain assessment, documentation, staff/patient education and competency development.
6. Implements innovative programs to promote positive pain management behaviors by staff.
7. Demonstrates evidence based practice through promoting patient-centered care, mentoring of staff and consistent use of best practices.
8. Collects and monitors pain management outcomes to guide both individual practice and assist departments in performance improvement.
9. Oversees daily operations in Acute Pain Service on unit. Round twice daily (once with anesthesiologist) on post-operative patients on the Acute Pain Service (including but not limited to patients with epidural catheters, nerve blocks, indwelling plexus catheters and intrathecal opioids).
10. Oversight of Customer Satisfaction feedback on Pain Management.
11. Provides care for individual patients for pain management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Cu! rrent Michigan Registered Nurse license
2. Bachelorâs Degree in Nursing (BSN). Must obtain Nurse Practitioner license within 5 years of hire.
3. Minimum of three years of nursing experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Pain Management Program development and/or Pain Services
