According to established procedures, performs a variety of routine laboratory procedures and support services according to the assigned laboratory section. Leads a shift or team to perform pre-analytic specimen and order processing including training and oversight of other lab assistants. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate clearly. Demonstrated reliability and a self-starter. Must be competent and experienced in pre-analytic specimen activities to include the effective teaching and mentoring of others. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory services is desirable.
