Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland ! Center, is a 159-bed acute care, osteopathic teaching hospital! . With a 400-member medical staff, St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center, offers more than 35 medical and surgical specialties, with a focus on advanced diagnostics and treatment for cancer, cardiac, psychiatric and aging patients. The hospital also features a Sleep Disorders Clinic that diagnoses and treats people with sleeping problems and related illnesses such as sleep apnea.
Department Description
We are a 45 bed surgical oncology unit.This is primarily a surgical unit which includes bariatric and joint camp patients.About 20% of our population is oncology ,hematology,and hospice patients.Training for care of the bariatric surgical patient ,pain management including epidural pain management will be provided.6Tower offers flexible self scheduling & a supportive atmosphere.Pain management is a major focus.We will provide an individualized orientation to meet your specific needs.
Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, ensures! individualized patient care is provided utilizing the nursing process which includes assessing the patient, identifying patient problems or potential problems, developing and implementing a nursing plan of care, and evaluating care of assigned patients. Strives for Clinical Excellence by utilizing established pathways and protocols in an effort to achieve Clinical Excellence. It is the responsibility of the registered nurse to provide coordination of all patient care activities.
Qualifications
Required
Current Michigan RN licensure. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
ACLS certification within one year of hire.
Preferred
Telemetry reading and one to two years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
