Works under the direction and supervision of the RN or physician and provides a broad variety of care for a group of patients. This may include delegated components ! of the assessment and discharge process, basic patient education, unit specific treatments/procedures and diagnostic modalities, activities of daily living and dietary assistance. Assists team by processing medical record data, greeting visitors, making phone calls as delegated, and answering the phone.
Requirements :
BCLS Certification required. Previous experience in a hospital or patient care setting, successful completion of a nurse assistant training course or completion of the first semester of a clinical rotation in nursing is preferred. A minimum of three months prior nurse assistant or certified nurse assistant experience preferred. Basic reading, writing, understanding and ability to speak the English language and skills normally acquired through graduation from high school or successful completion of a G.E.D. program. Basic computer data entry skills, typing, filing and organizational skills required.
