REGISTERED NURSE is a staff nurse who provides nursing care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process. * Utilizes the nursing process in planning, providing and evaluating each patient's care and produces a written nursing assessment and up-to-date individualized care plan.* Develops measurable goals on the Individualized Treatment Plan that are mutually set with the treatment team and patient. * Provides a safe, therapeutic environment that protects patient rights. * Develops a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients; assists patient in developing coping mechanisms to deal with feelings.* Sets limits in a therapeutic/consistent manner within program guidelines and age-specific.* Establishes contact with the patient=s physician and interdisciplinary team in order to assist in planning the patient's care in a professional manner.* Assesses patient's physical needs and follows up with necessary treatment.* ntervenes to decrease panic in disturbed patient; is able to use appropriate interventions on a daily basis; demonstrates an understanding and follows up with level system. Job Requirements: The following are the job requirements for the Registered Nurse position:* Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.* Current status as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan. Bachelor=s degree in nursing preferred * One year of experience in nursing (med-surg/pediatric), with one additional year of experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. )
