Responsibilities and Duties
- Pulls and prepares patient charts; answers phone; performs other general duties as required.
- Maintains neatness of work area to comply with OSHA standards.
- Administers medication, injections, and routine treatments.
- Assists in the evaluation of the patient’s care.
- Accepts doctor’s orders for patients.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of pertinent changes in patient’s condition.
- Assists with general health care.
- Observes and records signs and symptoms of changes in patient’s condition or behavior.
- Assesses environment.
- Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program
- One to Three years of nursing experience. One year Correctional Facility experience required.
- ! Currently licensed as a licensed practical nurse or licensed v! ocational nurse in the state.
- Compliant with accepted professional standards and practices.
- Possess and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Has presented a pre-employment physician’s health clearance including a negative TB skin test and/or CXR and other tests as required by Organization policy.
- Good oral and written communication skills, and organized.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
