Coordinate patient flow in the Cardiovascular Center Clinic serving several sub-specialty clinics. Perform various clinically-related duties delegated by the medi! cal and nursing staff. Maintain proficiency and competency in performing 12 lead EKGs, dressing changes, and immunizations. Assist in patient care activities to improve the safety, efficiency and quality in the CVC Clinic. Provide routine instructions to patients regarding procedures, treatments, and follow-up care instructions as delegated by the clinical medical and nursing staff. Assist with medication reconciliation, prescription renewal and pharmacy information updates, documentation of social and health history, prior authorization and indigent drug process. Problem-solve patient and family care issues. Collaborate with clinical staff and recommend changes to improve the safety, quality and efficiency of patient care. Required Qualifications*
Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Recent experience as medical assistant in a clinical setting. Proficent with performing 12 Lead electrocardiograms, other a! ncillary cardiology procedures and immunizations. Previous exp! erience in prescription renewal and medication reconciliation processes. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in addition to being able to take direction. Effective time management skills. Must have documented history of excellent attendance and punctuality. Demonstrated basic computer navigation skills are required. Previous experience in clinical data entry. Desired Qualifications*
Certification as a Medical Assistant is desired.
