ID: 43652 Title: RN - Observation Unit, day shift Entity: Spectrum Health Pay Rate: - Job Description : Schedule: Full time, 72 hours per 2 week pay period, variable day shifts.
Responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of an assigned group of patients. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager and other members of the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat the patient's responses to actual or potential health conditions. Assesses, monitors, detects, plans, and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications associated with specific health problems and / or medical treatment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan o Bachelor of Science degree in nursing preferred o Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program
Basic Life Support within 90 days
Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum Certification (TNCC) within 1 year
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Time management and organizational skills. Self directed. Ability to make quality, independent decisions. Analytical and strong problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes and multiple interruptions. Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality. Ability to listen to others. Competency in the use of a variety of computer hardware and software systems. Must be independently mobile. Able to lift/move up to 60 pounds.
The Butterworth Emergency Department features 67 beds including our trauma bay and flex mod as well as a specialized chest pain center. We have the capibility of telemetry and critical care in 59 of the beds. It includes Grand Rapids area pediatric emergency services, providing an area that is specifically designed to accommodate an environment, equipment and care for your pediatric patients and their families. The Emergency Department is a challenging, high paced environment that requires quick assessment, identification and interventions by its highly skilled nursing staff and is prepared for every potential medical scenario. You would join a team that includes the support of collaboration of other health care professionals including physicians, specialized technicians and our own in-house social workers.
